Need a fun science activity to challenge your students? Look no further than this escape room activity. Escape rooms are a fun way to teach the 5th Grade Science TEKS while encouraging collaboration, problem solving, and critical thinking. Students will work together to show their knowledge of circuits and electricity to turn the power back on at the school (see mission below).

This escape room contains 5 stations with 4 questions each station (20 questions total). Students must answer the 4 questions and use the decoder to decipher out the code. They type the codes into a Google Form to move onto the next station. The final page will give them a verification code to complete their escape.

The mission...
The electricity in the school building keeps flickering on and off. Something is wrong with the circuits. Your teacher doesn’t seem right either. They keep mumbling to themselves about deciphering codes to figure out the problem. Fortunately for you and your classmates, a voice on the intercom instructs you to solve the following stations by answering 4 questions and using the decoder to decipher the clues. Hurry up and fix the electricity.
