Need a fun math activity to challenge your students? Look no further than this escape room activity. Escape rooms are a fun way to review math standards while encouraging collaboration, problem solving, and critical thinking. Students can work together or alone to escape being locked in the school (see the mission below).

The escape room contains 8 stations (4 comparing and 4 ordering). Students must answer the questions and use following the directions to decipher the code. They type the codes into a Google Form to move onto the next station. The final page will give them a verification code to complete their escape.

Comparing Decimals through the thousandth place value
Ordering Decimals through the thousandth place value

The mission...
During a lesson on comparing and ordering decimals, you teacher begins mumbling suddenly. Everyone is looking at each other, not knowing what to do. You begin to hear them rattling off decimals numbers and they get louder and louder. They grab a student nearby and yell, ”Which number is bigger!? I have to know!” The only way for you to save your teacher from this madness. You must complete the following stations to cure your teacher.
