Need a fun way to challenge your students? Look no further than this escape room activity. Escape rooms are a fun way to teach key scientific concept while encouraging collaboration, problem solving, and critical thinking. Students will work together to show their knowledge of force and motion to save their teacher from their evil twin (see the mission below).
The escape room contains 5 stations with 4 questions each station (20 questions total). Students must answer the 4 questions and use the decoder to decipher out the code. They type the codes into a Google Form to move onto the next station. The final page will give them a verification code to complete their escape.
This escape room involves the following science concepts/skills:
6.8.A compare and contrast potential and kinetic energy
6.8.B identify and describe the changes in position, direction, and speed of an object when acted upon by unbalanced forces
6.8.C calculate average speed using distance and time measurements
6.8.D measure and graph changes in motion

The mission...
Your teacher’s brain seems to not be working today. Nothing they say makes any sense. Your teacher’s evil twin appears out of nowhere and tells you that you have a limited time until their nervous system is permanently in trouble. With an evil laugh, they tell you to try and answer the following questions and use the decoders to decipher the clues to help return your teacher to normal.
